What Is an AP Calculus BC Score Calculator?

An AP Calculus BC Score Calculator estimates your AP Calculus BC score from your multiple-choice and free-response performance.

It converts both sections into weighted values, combines them into a composite score out of 100 and estimates an AP score from 1 to 5.

How to Use the AP Calculus BC Score Calculator

  1. Enter the number of multiple-choice questions you answered correctly.
  2. Enter your total free-response points.
  3. Click Calculate.
  4. Review your weighted MCQ score, weighted FRQ score, composite score and estimated AP score.

How AP Calculus BC Scoring Works

The AP Calculus BC exam combines a multiple-choice section and a free-response section.

The multiple-choice portion contributes 50% of the exam score, while the free-response portion contributes the remaining 50%.

The calculator converts both raw results into weighted values and adds them together to estimate a composite score out of 100.

AP Calculus BC Score Formula

MCQ Weighted Score = (Correct Answers ÷ 42) × 50
FRQ Weighted Score = (Free Response Points ÷ 54) × 50
Composite Score = MCQ Weighted Score + FRQ Weighted Score

The composite score is then used to estimate an AP score from 1 to 5.

AP Calculus BC Score Calculation Example

Multiple-choice correct: 30 out of 42

Free-response points: 36 out of 54

MCQ weighted score: 35.7

FRQ weighted score: 33.3

Composite score: 69.0

Estimated AP score: 5

AP Calculus BC Section Weights

Section Maximum Raw Score Exam Weight
Multiple Choice4250%
Free Response5450%

AP Calculus BC Free-Response Section

The free-response section includes six questions and contributes half of the estimated exam score.

The calculator uses your total free-response points across all six questions rather than requiring each FRQ score separately.

Because MCQ and FRQ performance carry equal weight, improvement in either section can have a substantial effect on the estimated composite score.
