Attendance percentage is calculated by dividing the number of classes attended by the total number of classes held and multiplying by 100.
For example, attending 42 out of 50 classes gives an attendance rate of 84%.
The absence percentage can be calculated from the number of missed classes in the same way.

Classes missed can be found by subtracting classes attended from total classes.
Suppose you attended 42 out of 50 classes.
Attendance percentage: (42 ÷ 50) × 100 = 84%
Classes missed: 50 − 42 = 8
Absence percentage: (8 ÷ 50) × 100 = 16%
If you then miss 3 more classes, your total number of classes becomes 53 and your projected attendance falls to approximately 79.25%.
Each additional missed class increases the total number of classes while your attended-class count stays the same, which lowers your attendance percentage.
The effect is usually larger when the total number of classes is still small. Missing one class out of 10 has a much bigger impact than missing one class out of 100.
